The AUCKLAND SPEECH & DRAMA COMPETITION SOCIETY INCORPORATED is a charitable society which was incorporated in 1999 and is run by volunteers, with the primary purpose of organising a speech and drama competition in order to promote, encourage and foster the study and performance of speech and drama. This competition is designed for children and young adults.
Our mission is to encourage the participation of children and young adults in speech and drama to foster their confidence, communication skills, expression and creativity. We achieve this by organising an annual competition, usually held in the first weekend of Term Three School Holidays in September to give an opportunity for participants to perform and compete in speech and drama in public.
While this is a central Auckland competition, participants are from a wide range of schools from the wider Auckland and from a range of cultural backgrounds
Every 2 years we nominate a competition for PACANZ National Young Performer Awards.
We cannot deliver on our mission without the support of our volunteers, donors, sponsors and community grants, which is gratefully received.
